Why should I report housing discrimination?
November 16, 2007
Where you live affects every part of your life. It will determine where you shop, where you work, and where your children go to school. If you are prevented from living in the neighborhood you choose because of discrimination, report it. Illegal practices hurt everyone.
In addition, if a complaint is resolved in your favor, you may be awarded money for any damages you suffered. It may also be possible for you to move into the housing you were denied. Most importantly, the Connecticut Fair Housing Center will make sure that what happened to you will not happen to anyone else.
