Fair Lending Policy

The Connecticut Fair Housing Center works to ensure that Connecticut’s lending laws protect consumers.  During the 2007-2008 legislative session, we advocated for the passage of Public Act 08-176, An Act Concerning Responsible Lending and Economic Security.  This law put common sense restrictions on the kinds of loans in large part responsible for the foreclosure crisis and established a range of programs to assist homeowners in danger of foreclosure.
