Education and Outreach
The Connecticut Fair Housing Center provides community education principally to low-income households and the low-income housing provider community on fair housing issues.
To help everyone understand the fair housing laws, the Center’s staff is available to come to you and your community group to explain the law, meet with the potential victims of discrimination, and give information about how our services might help you get access to the housing you want.
In the past, the Center has provided information to
- residents and staff of homeless shelters;
- social workers assisting families with children;
- nursing home residents moving into the community;
- social service agencies assisting clients with housing searches;
- domestic violence advocates;
- housing counselors;
- Section 8 staff members;
and many others.
We can schedule a training during the day or evening. In addition, we have Spanish speaking staff who can provide training in Spanish
If you would like us to come and give you information about the fair housing laws, please contact Letty Ortiz at 860-247-4400, ext. 100 or by email letty@ctfairhousing.org.
